RipCode Signs MySpace

Dallas, Texas-based Ripcode, a firm that develops video transcoding appliances, said today that the popular social networking Web site MySpace has concluded a successful trial of RipCode's V4 video-transcoding application. RipCode said that MySpace is the largest video Internet site to use its appliance-based solution for video transcoding. RipCode's video transcoding appliance is used to convert between different video formats for publishing on MySpaceTV and other Internet video sites. RipCode is venture backed by ATA Ventures, Hunt Ventures, Vesbridge Partners, and El Dorado Ventures, and most recently raised a venture round in August.
