Rackspace Taps Akamai For Cloud Files Acceleration

San Antonio-based hosting provider Rackspace said today that it has integrated with Akamai's content delivery network as part of its Cloud Files service. The firm said the itnegration allows its customers to serve content through Akamai's CDN services. Rackspace's Cloud Files service is a cloud-based storage service which allows users to purchase online storage on demand. The service includes support for CNAMES, which means that files can be accessed using a customer's brand and web site URL.
