Rackspace: Consumer Have Big Online Shopping Plans For Christmas

A majority of consumers are planning on shopping online for Christmas this year, according to a new survey released by Rackspace this morning. The San Antonio provider of cloud hosting services said it conducted a survey of 4,000 UK and US adults, showing that 86 percent of its respondents plan to buy something online this year for Christmas. More than half (51 percent) plan to do at least half of their shopping online this year. Rackspace also said it found that 65 percent of respondents plan to go online on Christmas Day, to send greetings to friends and family, post pictures on social media sites, play online games, and more--saying this may be the "most connected Chritmas ever." The company posted its data for the survey online. The company said it tapped polling firm OnePoll for the results.
