Rackspace Adds Private Clouds

San Antonio-based Rackspace, a provider of Internet hosting services, said Wednesday that it has added support for private clouds running VMware. The firm said the new Private Cloud Offering offers private, dedicated hardware environments rather than shared cloud services to clients. According to Rackspace, the dedicated cloud product is an evolution of its dedicated virtual server offerings, and is targeted at enterprises where shared public clouds are not appropriate.
