Quickoffice Links With SoonR

Dallas, Texas-based Quickoffice Inc., a publisher of mobile office productivity software, revealed Tuesday that it will co-devise a desktop-access utility in cooperation with SoonR, a developer of applications that link mobile devices to remote computers. Quickoffice explained that the proposed solution will be a client-server application that will enable users to view, edit and share content stored on desktops from their laptops or handheld devices. Quickoffice said the service, branded "Quickaccess," will even work when source computers are turned off. Quickoffice said the new offering will be available in early 2008.
