National Instruments Plans To Hire 1,000 In Austin

One of Austin's big high tech companies, National Instruments, is planning on creating 1,000 new jobs and investing $80M in its research and development facility in the city, according to an announcement from Gov. Rick Perry. According to the state, it will provide $4.4M from the Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) as part of the deal, wich will result in the expansion and new jobs. National Instruments is a major provider of electronic measurement and testing hardware and software. Texas said that the deal will include the development of a new, 300,000 square foot facility adjacent to National Instrument's existing location. National Instruments was founded in Austin over 35 years ago.
