National Instruments Gets Win With Freightliner

Austin, Texas-based National Instruments said today that its LabVIEW software and hardware has been selected by Freightliner LLC, a leading heavy-duty truck manufacturer. Freightliner will use National Instrument's LabView software and PXI-based hardware, to verify electrical assembly on its new line of heavy-duty trucks. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, however NI's solution replaces a previously used VME-based solution. PXI is an open specification related to the CompactPCI standard, targeted at test, measurement, and control. National Instruments' LabView software is widely used in the industry for designing and prototyping measurement applications for scientific and other applications.
