Mirage Gains Patent

Austin-based security software provider Mirage Networks is reporting that it has landed another patent from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Mirage said that it has received U.S. Patent Number 7,469,418 for its network access control technology. The firm said the new patent comes in addition to its first patent, awarded in 2006, plus three additional patents in process. According to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the patent was awarded on December 23rd, 2008, and covers technology used to deter network attacks on a system. The patent names Mark L. Wilkinson, Ronald J. Miller, and Michael J. McDaniels as inventors, and was file October of 2003. Mirage's patent attorney listed on the patent was Mary Jo Koestner Bertani. Mirage is a provider of network access control (NAC) software, which is used to secure enterprise networks.
