Michaels Buys Digital Scrapbooking Service

Irving, Texas-based crafts retailer Michaels Sotres announced this morning that it has acquired the online scrapbooking application created by ScrapHD, a CHicago firm. The software allows customers to create their own, digital scrapbooks that they can print at home or get bound into professional coffee table books. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Michaels said it will re-launch the ScrapHD website in 2011 as part of its own, corporate site. The features will include both free and paid membership content.
