Media Excel Announces Transcoding Product

Austin, Texas-based Media Excel, a developer of video transcoding products, announced late Thursday that it will deliver a new transcoder with support for Qualcomm's MediaFLO format. Media Excel said that its new Hera 3200.FLO will provide transcoding for mobile TV broadcasters and others. Video transcoding is used by broadcasters and others to translate video into mobile formats; Media Excel's appliance is targetd at providing video compression to mobile TV operators. Media Excel is backed by Red McCombs.
