LifeSize Licenses Technology

LifeSize Communications Inc., an Austin, Texas-based provider of high-definition video conferencing products, will utilize technology and intellectual property from video collaboration software publisher Avistar Communications Corp., Avistar revealed Friday. Avistar explained that, according to the technology agreement, LifeSize will integrate Avistar's technology into LiveSize's high-definition room video conferencing systems. LifeSize will also license Avistar’s intellectual property for its distribution network, Avistar said. The financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. Avistar Communications Corp. is headquartered in San Mateo, Calif.
