Layered Technologies Adds Automation

Plano-based Layered Technologies, which provides web and server hosting services, said Tuesday that the firm has added a new, automated platform which it says will help provide flexibility and increase efficiency of deploying servers at the firm. According to Layered, the new platform--called "Astro"--handles automatic server provisioning for customers. The firm said the new platform includes an application programming interface (API) which allows its partners to display inventory and coordinate sales of servers via their own web sites. Layered did not provide details, but said that the new system included a combination of hardware and software.
