Hyper9 Launches Lab Effort

Austin-based Hyper9, a provider of software for managing virtualized servers, said Wednesday that it has launched a new effort it is calling H9Labs. According to Hyper9, the new division will research, develop, and provide virtual infrastructure administrators with new and emerging innovations and technology from the firm. The firm said the new division will help it get its products to market more quickly. Among the new projects debuting today from the division is a plug-in replacement which replaces generation virtual machine icons in its software with OS-specific icons for various operating systems; and an application to pipe data into .NET systems. Hyper9 is venture backed by Venrock, Matrix Partners, Silverton Partners and Maples Investments.
