Hospitalists Now Lands $3.5M in Series A

Austin-based full-service physician group practice Hospitalists Now announced today that it has closed an initial round of venture financing worth $3.5 million. The startup credited life sciences-focused venture capital firm Sante Ventures with leading the effort. Founded by its chief executive and president, Michael Gonzales, Hospitalists Now provides and manages inpatient care for client hospitals in partnerships with local primary care physicians and specialists. According to Gonzales, his company will use the Series A funds to continue software development and initiate beta testing of its proprietary technology. Hospitalists Now added that its client roster already includes 14 hospitals and 42 providers.
