Gowalla Co-founder Williams Free Agent Again

Josh Williams, the co-founder of now-defunct Austin startup Gowalla, is a free agent again, and has departed Facebook, a year and a half after Facebook's acquisition of Gowalla. Williams has not said what he intends to do after departure from his post at Facebook. Facebook had acquired Gowalla in part to tap into the talents of Williams. The move was first reported by AllThingsD. Apparently, Tim Van Damme--who made a fortuitous switch to Instagram just before its billion dollar acquisition by Facebook--also has departed Facebook. Both departures seem timed to what the typical lockup requirements would be for any payout from acquisitions by a technology company.
