Governor Awards $1M To Attract Tech Firm

Texas Governor Rick Perry announced Thursady afternoon, that the state has granted $1M to Authentix Inc., as part of a Texas Enterprise Fund grant to expand and relocate the firm's research and development facility to Addison. Authentix, which is relocating the facility from Douglasville, Pa., develops nanotechnology used for tracking pharmaceuticals, currency, agrochemicals, and other products. According to the Governor, the investment is projects to generate $6.5M in capital investment and create 120 new jobs during the next five years. Authentix will also be receiving relocation assistance from the Town of Addison. The Texas Enterprise Fund was created in 2003 to help bring new jobs to Texas.
