GlobalSCAPE's TappIn In Deal With QNAP

TappIn, the storage software unit of San Antonio-based GlobalSCAPE, has scored a win with network attached storage (NAS) device provider QNAP. TappIn said that the deal will allow QNAP customers to use their NAS devices from anywhere from their remote PCS and mobile devices, including Apple iOS, Google Android, Windows Phone 7, and Kindle Fire devices. Financial details of the win were not disclosed. TappIn develops software which makes storage devices available on the cloud, similar to cloud storage services, but where users own the underlying storage hardware. GlobalSCAPE acquired TappIn in December.
