GasBuddy: Massive Fuel Outages, Wait Times In Wake of Irma, Harvey

As consumers across the Gulf Coast and Southeast continue to struggle with (yet another) hurricane, online fuel price app developer GasBuddy says it has begun offering up access to live, data visualization on fuel outages, wait times and price spreads. GasBuddy--based in Boston--has been providing updates on gas availability since Hurricane Harvey smashed into Houston, Beaumont, and surrounding areas of Texas last week. According to GasBuddy, its live information on fuel outages and other information is posted online. GasBuddy said on Friday that 25-50 percent of stations in major cities are still without fuel, and that wait times were still 30-60 minutes for a fillup; it's unclear if that's gotten worse or better since Irma came to land in Florida over the weekend.
