Fiberlight Buys Network in Waco

FiberLight, an owner of a metro optical telecommunications network, said Thursday afternoon that the firm is extending its presence in Texas, and has added 20 miles of fiber network in Waco. According to FiberLight it has purchased 20 miles of 96-count, fiber in the area from Consolidated Communications, an independent telephone company. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to the firm, the new fiber gives it the ability to serve enterprises and colocation customers in the Waco Central Business District. The firm said it now has 1,200 miles of fiber in Texas.
