Essex Woodlands Leads Investment In DNA Identification Tech

Venture capital firm Essex Woodlands, which has offices in Houston, is the lead investor in a developer of DNA identification technology. Silicon Valley-based IntegenX said that Essex Woodlands led a $40M, Series C funding for the firm today, which also included Domain Associates, QuestMark Partners, Greenspring Associates, Cross Creek Capital, RONAholdings LLC, Samsung Ventures, and In-Q-Tel. IntegenX develops systems which can provide a DNA identification and profile in less than 90 minutes, enough to be used in military and law enforcement purposes. Essex Woodlands adds Ronald Eastman, based out of Palo Alto, to IntegenX's board of directors. More information »
