DJI Launches Consumer Quadcopter
A manufacturer of unmanned aerial vehicles and toys, DJI, which has offices in Austin, said today that it has launched a new, consumer focused "quadcopter", a multi-rotor aircraft incorporating GPS-based autopiloting and remote control. The firm said its new PHANTOM consumer quadcopter, which is priced at $679, includes such features as GPS navigation, a built-in mount for a GoPro camera and aerial photography, remote control, and more. The firm--which also has offices and operations in Hong Kong--said it develops high-end UAV flight control systems, and platforms for professional film and TV aerial photography, in addition to providing control modules for model aircraft products and toys.
