CyrusOne To Build New Data Center Focused On Oil, Gas Research

Dallas-based colocation provider CyrusOne already has a significant customer base with the oil and gas industry, and is hoping to grow that even larger today. According to CyrusOne, it is building a third, data center in Houston, specifically aimed for research and development in the oil and gas industry.

CyrusOne said its new data center will be the largest, seismic exploration computing campus in the U.S., and will serve the oil and gas industry's research and development efforts and use of geophysical exploration data. CyrusOne said the new data center will be located along Beltway 8, and expand out its data center campus there to more than 1 million square feet of data center, and 200,000 square feet of Class A office space. The new data center is expected to break ground early next year.
