Curb Aims At Home Energy Monitoring

Austin-based startup Curb said today that it has launched a new funding effort on Indiegogo, to launch the company's home energy intelligence system. According to Curb, which is led by Erik Norwood, it has developed a sensor box which connects to a home's circuit breaker, and allows homeonwers to see an ongoing analysis of their electricity usage, even when they are away. The company says its product is already available, and starts at $249, and that so far it has been testings its technology in more than 175 homes and businesses over the past 18 months. The company's hardware and software pipes a home's energy usage information to a smartphone app.
