Convio Extends APIs

Austin-based Convio, a developer of software-as-a-service for nonprofits, is extending its reach to developers, with the release of a new set of APIs for its clients. According to the firm, its new Convio Web Services is a new set of standard interfaces for connecting to data in the firm's system. Convio said the new web services allow clients to implement data synchronization with external systems, such as donor databases. The new APIs use the SOAP standard, the XML standard for data exchange, along with Web Services Description Language (WSDL) support defining those interfaces.
