Compass Intelligence Buys MobileTrax

San Antonio-based market research company Compass Intelligence announced this morning that it has acquired a fellow market analysis company, MobileTrax. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. Compass Intelligence provides market research on the mobile and wireless areas. MobileTrax was a publisher of the Inside Mobile newsletter and ran the Mobility Awards at CES, and also provided market research services. Compass Intelligence said that, as part of the acquisition, MobileTrax founder and principal analyst Dr. J. Gerry Purdy, Ph.D. has been named new Chief Mobility Strategist.
