BiO2 Medical Lands $13.7M For Medical Device

San Antonio-based BiO2 Medical, a developer of medical devices, reported late Friday that it has completed a $13.7M, Series B funding round. The round came from the Targeted Technology Fund and Pasadera Capital. The company said the round included a conversion of a $1M State of Texas Emerging Technology Fund (ETF) award. BiO2 Medical explained that the round will go towards completing Design Verification Testing in support of CE Mark submission, and to initiate a human clinical study of its central venous catheter and Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) filter combination device, intended to protect against potentially fatal Pulmonary Embolism (PE) in critically ill patients.
