BMC Buys StreamStep

Houston-based BMC Software has acquired a developer of application release process management software, StreamStep, the company said today. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. StreamStep develops business software which is used to manage the release process for applications. BMC said it will incorporate StreamStep into its BMC Application Release Autmoation (ARA) product. StreamStep's software was being used by such companies as HomeAway to manage their product development. StreamStep was based in Austin.
