BMC Buys Mainframe Software Product Line

Houston-based BMC Software announced Friday that it has acquired a line of mainframe software products, from NEON Enterprise Software. According to BMC, it acquired a portfolio of IMS (Information Management System) database products and customers from NEON. However, the firm did not disclosed financial details of the acquisition. The product line is used to manage high speed transaction processing for insurance, telecommunications, and financial institutions.
