Austin Ventures Exits Position In RetailMeNot
Austin-based RetailMeNot announced this morning that its early backer, Austin Ventures, has distributed all of the common stock in RetailmeNot held by its affiliated entities to their respective partners, as of Thursday. RetailMeNot said that Austin Ventures had owned approximately 14.6 percent of its outstanding share in the company, or 7,628,163 shares of its common stock. Austin Ventures had been one of RetailMeNot's earliest investors, back when RetailMeNot had been called WhaleShark Media. Austin Ventures helped provide the funding for the acquisition of the RetailMeNot brand by Whale Shark Media back in 2010.
