Austin Puts Hold On Short Term Rentals

In a move opposed by Airbnb and HomeAway, the Austin City council has put a moratorium on licenses for non-owner-occupied, short term rental properties. Those permits are required for property owners who do not live in a house to rent out houses in residential areas.
