Applied Optoelectronics Adds Optical Modules

Sugar Land, Texas-based Applied Optoelectronics said today that it has introduced two new optical components for the Fibre Channel storage networking market. AOI said that it has introduced two new small form factor pluggable (SFP) transceivers for CWDM and DWDM 4 Gigabit Fibre Channel. The transceivers are used for connecting networking equipment and computers into storage area networks and metropolitan area networks, and are an important component in SAN switches, HBAs, and other products. AOI said samples are available now with volume shipments starting this month.
