Ambiq Micro Lands $10M For Ultra Low Power Semiconductors

Austin-based Ambiq Micro, which develops power optimized semiconductor technology, said earlier this week that it has raised $10M in a Series B funding. The round was led by Austin Ventures, and also included ARM, Mercury Fund, Huron River Ventures, and others. Ambiq Micro makes ultra-low-power semiconductor technology, aimed at dramatically lower power requirements for chips. The firm uses standard, CMOS semiconductor processes, and is aiming its platform at low power markets and applications, such as wearable computing, wireless sensors, low power medical devices, and other similar areas.
