Alereon Gets $3M Investment

Austin-based Alereon, a manufacturer of ultra wideband USB semiconductors, announced this morning that it has raised $3M in a strategic investment from SK Telecom. According to the firm, SK Telecom invested in the firm because of the company's interest in UWB and wireless USB for connecting its high speed mobile phone services to customers' mobile devices. Alereon said that SK Telecom is the second Korean investor in the firm, which has also previously received venture capital from Samsung Ventures. Alereon develops wireless WiMedia and Wireless USB chips. More information »
