AT&T Buys Pay Per Call Firm

San Antonio-based telecommunications giant AT&T said this morning that it has agreed to acquire Ingenio, a privately held firm which provides pay-per-call advertising to local advertisers. Financial terms were nto disclosed. Ingenio operates a service which advertises local companies, charging based on call volumes and leads generated by phone. Ingenio was venture backed by Benchmark Capital and the Carlyle Group.
