Xplore Technologies Ties With Red Bend For Firmware Updates
Austin-based ruggedized tablet hardware developer Xplore Technologies has linked with Red Bend, a developer of mobile management software to provide Android firmware updates, the companies said today. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. According to the two, they are using Red Bend to provide firmware updates "over the air" to Xplore's RangerX rugged Android tablets. Red Bend's software handles issues with network connectivity, battery power loss, and other potential issues during the firmware update process. Firmware is the low-level software which sits underneath the Android operating system to handle hardware and devices on a tablet.
