Austin-based Wintegra, a developer of communications semiconductors, announced today that it is sampling its latested processor family, the WinPath3, to "selected" customers around the world. Wintegra's processor is used for wireless base stations, IP and microwave mobile backhaul applications, and broadband access applications. The firm said the processor, the third generation of its products, provides five times the performance of its prior product. Wintegra said it will have production qualified devices in Q2 of 2010.
