WhalekShark Media said today that 2 percent of all e-commerce sales from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday came through its online coupon site, RetailMeNot. According to the firm, it tracked almost $90M in merchant sales in the period came from its site, as shoppers flocked to the coupon and deals site to find bargains on their holiday shopping. RetailMeNot said that it saw traffic growth of 39 percent compared with last year, with a growth in mobile traffic of more than 150% year-to-year. WhaleShark said it estimates its sites have helped facilitate more than $2.5 billion in sales over the last 12 months. WhaleShark is led by Cotter Cunningham, and owns not just RetailMeNot but a series of other, international coupon and deals sites.
