WebWars Unveils Online Gaming Platform
Austin-based WebWars, a developer of online game technology, said today that the firm has emerged from stealth, and will develop game titles based on Web browser technology. According to WebWars, its product will allow users to play online games while surfing the web, and browsing web sites. The firm said its first, Flash-based game, will open beta testing in July. WebWars is headed by Cindy Armstrong, who was most recently CEO of WEBZEN America; the firm is backed by Mike Heisley, owner of the Memphis Grizzlies, who also serves as Chairman of the company's board of directors.
