Wayport to Install Wi-Fi Network for MA Hospital
Wayport Inc. revealed Wednesday that it will install a wireless public Internet service for a Massachusetts community hospital. The financial impact of the customer win was not disclosed. Wayport explained that the service will be offered free of charge to patients at Winchester Hospital in Winchester, Mass., and will include one public personal computer unit known as the Wayport CyberCenter Express. Wayport added that it will install the Wi-Fi service at Winchester's acute care hospital in patient rooms, waiting rooms and other common areas. Additionally, physicians will have access to a private network, Wayport said. Founded in 1996, Wayport specializes in deploying WiFi and other high speed networks to airports, hotels, and other public spaces. The firm is headquartered in Irving, Texas.
