WayBlazer Gets $5M For Travel Discovery

Austin-based WayBlazer, a new startup developing travel discovery and planning software, said today that it has raised $5M in a series A funding round. The funding was led by The Entrepreneurs' Fund (TEF) and IBM, and also included Gobi Partners. WayBlazer is using IBM's Watson technology on yet-unannounced products aimed at the hotel, cruise, travel publications, and destination marketing organizations. The company said its chairman is Terry Jones, founder of Travelocity and founding chairman of; the company's CEO is Felix Laboy, who was president of Sabre Hospitality Solutions.
