Vinli, Uber Team Up On 4G Wi-Fi Hotspots During SXSW
Dallas-based connected car device maker Vinli said today that it is partnering with Uber, to offer up free, in-car, 4G LTE Wi-Fi during SXSW. Vinli--which apparently worked with Uber on a similar promotion during CES earlier this year--said it will offer up fast, reliable Wi-Fi on select Uber rides during SXSW. Vinli did not say which Uber vehicles, or how many Uber vehicles, will be equipped with the free Wi-Fi support. Vinli is backed by Samsung Venture investment Corporation, Cox Automotive, The Westly Group, and Continental; the company develops a device which plugs into a car's USB port, and provides high speed Wi-Fi and other connected car features.
