Vignette Trumpets Customer Web Sites Ratings
Austin, Texas-based Vignette, a developer of content management software used for managing web sites, revealed Wednesday that researchers at Brown University recently declared one of its clients, USA.gov, the best federal "e-government" Web site. Additionally, the eighth-annual study listed two other Vignette customers, IRS.gov and NASA.gov, among its top 15. The IRS site garnered 10th, while the NASA page came in just behind at No.11. According to Vignette, researchers at Brown University's Taubman Center for Public Policy examined 48 federal government legislative and executive sites and 13 federal court sites during June and July. Various factors were considered in the evaluation, including multimedia, foreign language content, disability access and PDA accessibility. Vignette's software is used by customer to manage web content and keep web sites updated.
