ViaWest Opens Up New Plano Data Center

Colocation and IT services firm ViaWest said this morning that it hos opened up a new data center in Plano, with 148,000 square feet of raised floor. According to ViaWest, the new data center brings its total number of data centers in Texas to 8, with a total of 276,000 square feet of raised floor capacity. ViaWest said the expansion in Texas comes as a result of the state's supply of stable energy, low risk of natural disasters, ready access to fiber networks and competitive regulatory environment with a low state tax burden. ViaWest is based in Denver.
