Austin-based Vast, which develops software to help consumers compare and analyze big purchases like autos, real estate, and travel, said today that it has launched a new iPhone app aimed at helping with the auto buying process. Vast said it has launched CarStory, an iPad application which uses big data and analysis to help automotive sales associates better service customers. The firm said its new CarStory app helps automotive sales associates on used car lots work with customers during the sales process, helping customers locate the right cars on the lot to look at, and help compare those cars with other options. The new app was inspired by former AutoNation CMO Gary Marcotte. Vast said its software helps power over 350 auto search websites.
