Austin, Texas-based Valence Technology Inc. has appointed Robert L. Kanode as its CEO and President, the company announced Wednesday. Kanode, who previously consulted for Valence, replaces Dr. James Akridge and will assume the latter's position on the board of directors. Valence developed Saphion, the industry’s first commercially available, large-format Lithium-ion phosphate rechargeable batteries.
