    Ublip Acquired By Numerex

Dallas-based Ublip, a developer of machine-to-machine software and services, has been acquired by Atlanta-based Numerex, Numerex said Friday. Numerex said it will pay 400,000 shares of restricted Numerex Class A stock and approximately $300,000 in cash, or roughly $1.7M, for Ublip. Ublip develops software which allows for the creation of Web-based M2M applications, which are used to pull information from hardware, equipment and sensors. Jeffery O. Smith, founder and President of Ublip, joins as CTO of Numerex and a member of the company's board of directors.
