Trilogy Enterprises, the big enterprise software company and conglomerate, said today that its software investment arm has signed a deal to acquire four businesses from Progress Software, and will create a new company around those businesses. Trilogy said it is buying Sonic, Savvion, Actional and DXSI, four of the businesses run by Progress Software, to createa a brand new company, Aurea Software, focused on business process, application, and data management. Financial details of the buy were not announced. Trilogy said that Aurea Software will have a team of 250 people, revenues of approximately $100M, and 1,500 worldwide customers. Trilogy said it was advised by Atlas Technology Group in the deal.
