Austin-based open source business software firm Transverse said today that the firm has been selected by a customer to provide back office services for Spectrum Five, a satellite television operator. According to Transverse, Spectrum Five will use the firm to help launch its direct broadcast satellite operations, which include television, mobile video, and wireless backhaul services. Financial impact of the deal was not disclose. Transverse develops open source, support and billing software for the telecom industry.
