A report from Israel today ">says that Texas Instruments is in "advanced talks" to sell its mobile chips business to Amazon.com. It's unclear what Amazon.com would do with its own semiconductor and chip design business, although TI's unit apparently powers the chips in Barnes & Noble's Nook electronic reader.
