TAOS Claims Green Benefit
Texas Advanced Optoelectronic Solutions (TAOS), a developer of analog and mixed-signal semiconductors, is claiming today that the firm's components are playing a "noteworthy" role in reducing carbon emissions. According to TAOS, its ambient light sensing and proximitey detection technologies are being used to automatically adjust display brightness on HDTVs, computers, mobile phones, and monitors, which reduces power consumption by as much as 30% in those devices. The firm claimed that using its components are helping to shrink the earth's carbon footprint.
